ABSTRACT

This study was design to ascertain the comparative study of  factors affecting choices of family planning methods among women attending antenatal care in central hospital benin city. The background of the study talk about knowledge about methods of family planning and step towards gaining access to contraceptive methods using suitable method in a timely and effective matter. Four well-structured research questions were formulated and nineteen questions were administered to the respondents to collect response from them, The descriptive survey research was used to carry out this study. The target population is 300 women of reproductive age (15–49 years) attending family planning clinic in Central Hospital in Benin City. To conduct the study of 100 respondents were used for the study to select respondents. The respondents were chosen using the simple random sampling technique. The research concludes that family planning are better placed for growth and expansion if the nation actually seek the light of economic growth and development. Suggestions from the analysis therefore, recommended that the government should encourage the expansion of family planning providers by creating an enabling environment. This can be done by enacting laws that will protect family planning activities in the country and uneducated women should be encourage to be educated (Adult educated). As this will go a long way in terms of enlightenment, not just about family planning alone but in other sector of the economy.
