ABSTRACT
This research paper discusses the process of fabricating a shelving and display unit for the fashion studio in the Department of Fine and Applied Art at the University of Benin. The fashion studio is a crucial space for students to display and organize their work, but the current storage system is inadequate. The objective of this study is to design and fabricate a shelving and display unit that will effectively maximize the space in the studio and provide a functional storage solution for the students. The paper outlines the methodology and materials used in the fabrication process and discusses the benefits of the new shelving system. The results of the study show that the newly fabricated shelving and display unit improved the organization and accessibility of the studio, allowing students to better display and store their work. The conclusion suggests further improvements that can be made to enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the fashion studio.
