EXPONENTIAL – DAGUM {LOGsLOGISTIC} DISTRIBUTION

ABSTRACT

This research proposed a new distribution from thesTR{Y}sfamilysofsdistributionsscalled Exponential – Dagum {Logslogistic} (EXDAL). The random variable T which is the transforming distribution in the T-R{Y}sfamilysfollow the Exponential distribution while the R is a Dagum distributed random variable and the Y is the Log logistic distribution. The statistical and mathematical propertiessofsthe distribution are its moments, quantilesfunction, entropy, moments generating function,shazard function, survival function, mean, variance, standard deviation, skewness, kurtosis, probability density function andsthedmaximumslikelihooddestimatessof its parameter were studied. The flexibility ofathe new distribution is verified using aslifetime dataset Thesresults obtained showsthatsthesproposed distribution performs bettersthan Dagum and Log Logistics distributions respectively based on the performance criteria used.
