ABSTRACT
This study focused on exploring the strategies for promoting productivity in the Nigerian civil service: a case study of Delta State Civil Service Commission. The study adopted descriptive research survey design in building up this project work. The sample size was made up of 100 respondents. The data collected was analyzed using frequency count and simple percentage. The study revealed that there is high level of productivity in Delta state in civil service commission. It was concluded that promotion of civil servants, prompt payment of civil servants salaries, and provision of incentives for civil servants all constitutes the major strategies for promoting productivity in the Delta State Civil Service Commission. The study recommends that government should ensure that workers due for promotion are promoted as-at-when-due. It was also recommended that civil servants salaries should be constantly paid to civil servants as agreed by the government.
