ABSTRACT

This study is meant to determine employee cultural diversity's impacts on a company's performance. The following objectives guide the study research study; to determine the influence of religion on the company's performance, to assess the effect of workers' value system on the company's performance, and determine the impact of employee language on the company's performance. The researchers used a descriptive quantitative research method for data collection. The researchers used a five-sale Likert questionnaire for primary data collection. The questionnaires were distributed to Osekixo Limited employees to fill. The data obtained were analysed using descriptive statistics. The researchers also used regression analysis to establish the relationship between workers' cultural diversity and the company's performance. The research results showed that employee religion influenced organisational performance. There were seven variables of religion tested in this research that had an insignificant impact on company performance. Only three had a significant positive influence on organisational performance. Employees' religious beliefs negatively affected their job performance, although they positively affected work commitment. The findings also indicated that cultural values positively influenced a company's performance. Five items/constructs for the employee value system had an insignificant effect on company performance. The items/constructs of the employee value system significantly impacted teamwork, business outcomes, and customer and company values. Job variables negatively influenced organisational performance, but cultural values encouraged teamwork. The results showed that the organisation encouraged positive cultural values and discouraged negative cultural values. Also, all employee language variables apart from negative working practices and ethnicity had an insignificant effect on organisational performance. The results suggested that language differences contribute to conflicts that arise from a lack of skills for identifying with other cultural groups. Language differences also increased language barriers, thus inhibiting the transfer of knowledge within the workplace, and having language policies negatively influenced performance. It was concluded that cultural diversity influenced organisational performance.
