ABSTRACT
This study focuses on the analysis of sonic and visual aesthetics and how they affect a theatrical production in determining things such as the mood, emotional impact and audience perceptions especially in live performances. Elements such as costumes, makeUp, lighting and sound effects are very central in any production. The study’s main goal is to unravel and the intricate interplay between sonic and visuals in shaping aesthetic experience. The study aims to better understand how sonic and visuals aesthetics is viewed by the audience and to highlight how it impacts a production. The study used interview of a troupe in Benin as its primary data collection tool and utilizes a qualitative research method. According to this report sonic and visual aesthetics can be a promising direction for the future. It offers potential to create multi sensory experiences for the audience. Technology advancements such as augmented reality and interactive lighting can play a significant role in term of what is possible with sonic and visual aesthetics on stage. The combing of art and technology can create new possibilities for the audience.
