ABSTRACT

This study, which evaluated HIV/AIDS awarerness campaign using Rythm FM Benin City as a case study, was anchored on the tenets of Agenda setting theory. The survey design was adopted, with a 15 item questionnaire to elicit data from 400 respondents selected from the total population of 374,515 Rythm FM staff and residents of oredo local government through purposive sampling technique. Data obtained were presented and analysed with the aid of frequency tables and simple percentage. Findings revealed that all respondents are aware of HIV/Aids and the government, health organizations bodies, NGOs and the media are doing a create job to help create awareness about the campaign. Also the study shows that the messages  passed across to the respondents positively influences theme and change their mind set in other to curb the spread of the virus. However, majority of the respondents have a positive perception regarding the awarerness campaign but are not willing or indifferent about joining hands with authorities to reach out to many others that have not be enlightened.
