Abstract
This study sought to evaluate the living conditions of female students residing on campus, using Ugbowo campus as a case study. To facilitate the study, research questions were designed which was hinged on the objective of the study and examined the Living conditions of female students residing on campus. primary data was collected through the administration of questionnaires. The study result showed that the school hostel conditions do not affect the academic performance of female students in University of Benin city Campus. Furthermore the study shows that there is significant level of security in the female hostel of residence within the university of Benin city campus. The study adopted descriptive and inferential statistics method as technique of data analysis after. Based on the findings of the study it was recommended among others that; Firstly , university administration should prioritize efforts to enhance cleanliness, basic amenities, ventilation, and security across all hostels. This could involve regular maintenance, ensuring sufficient lighting, addressing noise issues, and implementing security measures to create a conducive living environment for students. Secondly, Recognizing the diverse needs and perceptions of students across different hostels, it's essential to implement targeted interventions. This could involve conducting specific assessments of each hostel to identify unique challenges and develop tailored solutions accordingly. In conclusion, the university should consider long-term strategies to address structural issues related to hostel infrastructure and capacity. Investing in the expansion and renovation of hostels can help accommodate growing student populations and ensure quality living conditions for all residents.
