ABSTRACT
This study was designed to ascertain the integration of the Evaluation of Parental Involvement in the Education of Children with Disabilities in Special Schools in Oredo L.G.A Benin City Edo State. One (1) research questions were formulated to guide the study. The study adopted a descriptive survey. The total population of special schools in Oredo L.G.A is 100 of all the school for children with disabilities. A total number of 100 Teachers made up the population of the study. The random sampling technique was used to select the respondents for this study. The research instrument for the study was a Questionnaire titled: “Evaluation of Parental Involvement in the Education of Children with Disabilities in Special Schools in Oredo L.G.A Benin City Edo State, which was distributed to the respondents and collected immediately after completion from respondents. The simple percentage and mean score was used in computing the responses of the questionnaire items. To account for the reliability of the study, the Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used which gave a value of 0. 721. At the end of the study, The findings from the analysis reveal a robust level of parental involvement in the education of children with disabilities. Across various aspects of involvement, such as attending school meetings, participating in school activities, advocating for their child's needs, and providing support at home, parents are actively engaged and committed to ensuring their child's academic success. This high level of involvement underscores the importance parents place on their child's education and highlights their willingness to collaborate with schools and provide necessary resources.
