ABSTRACT
This study evaluates the role of NAPTIP in the rehabilitation of the returnee migrants in Nigeria. it focuses on Benin city in Edo state which has the highest number migrant from these countries. The study adopts survey research design and utilizes data from both secondary data involves the review and analysis of extent literature, while likert scale 4 structured questionnaire and interview are used to generate the primary data. The data are presented on tables, charts, graphs and other statistical instruments. These data are analyzed with chi- square analysis tool using statistical package for social science (SPSS 15.0 version). The study reveals that the federal government has failed to make NAPTIP functional enough to embark on comprehensive rehabilitation of returnee migrants in Benin city, Edo state. This has forced the state government to take over the rehabilitation and reintegration of these returnee migrants. The study therefore recommend pragmatic steps in the institutionalization of returnee migrants rehabilitation program across the country since international migration and it outcome has become undeniable reality in the country.
