ABSTRACT
This Research attempts to evaluate the Prospectivity of Salkens Field, which is located at Longitude 005 16’ 34’’ and Latitude 006 19’ 21’’ in the Niger Delta Basin. This evaluation was achieved by the generation of Surface Attributes; Time and Depth Structure Maps, the extraction of Amplitudes. The Velocity Modelling (TDR) aided in the accurate conversion of Time to Depth. The Depth on the Structure Map ranged from 9420-12150ft. The methods that aided in the generation of surface attributes are; the Mapping of Faults and also the Mapping of Horizons. The extracted Amplitudes depicted the Area with Hydrocarbon accummulations as bright spots. The Area of prospect mapped using the Schlumberger Petrel Software was 2.0390495E+8ft². The Petrophysical Evaluations carried out in Wells “Salk-26” and “Salk-27” found in the Field of Study resulted in the analysis of three Hydrocarbon bearing Reservoirs; “Sand A”, “Sand B” and “Sand C”. The Reservoirs were penetrated at depths of 11881-11898ft, 11778-11818ft, and 11691-11774ft respectively. Reservoir Parameters such as Total Porosity, Hydrocarbon Saturation, Water Saturation ranged from (0.322-0.359), (90.97-95.11%), (4.22-9.03%) respectively. The Volume of Hydrocarbon (OIIP), in Reservoir “Sand C" was estimated to be 32,701,423,432,316.13 ft³.
