ABSTRACT

This research focuses on feasibility studies of construction projects in Edo State. The study seeks to know drivers behind undertaking feasibility studies, adoption rate of feasibility studies, factors affecting the accuracy of feasibility studies. The study employs a quantitative research approach, utilizing primary data collected through structured surveys administered to construction Quantity Surveyors in Edo State. Additionally, secondary data from relevant literature, research articles, reports, and publications are utilized to obtain data. Statistical analysis techniques, including descriptive statistics were employed to analyse the data and draw meaningful conclusions. While the research achieved significant findings, it is important to note certain limitations. The findings show that reducing overall project cost is the major driver of feasibility studies and residential development projects demonstrated the highest level of adoption. The study further recommends options for improving feasibility studies in the Edo construction industry.
