ABSTRACT

Many efforts have been made towards understanding the impact of employee performance in an organization. This study took a step further to look at the evaluation of employee performance on organization effectiveness using First Bank of Nigeria Plc. The main objectives of this study was to evaluates employees performance on organizational effectiveness, and to ascertain the extent to which human resource best practices and performance appraisal have a positive relationship with employee performance. The study employed structured questionnaire instrument to collect data. Data was analyzed using Taro Yamane formula to interpret the data. The finding shows that feedback on the level of job performance is a very important element in attaining higher employee performance. It was also seen that performance feed-back plays a critical role in evaluating employees’ performance in an organization. Based on this evidence, it is recommended that an established performance appraisal system should be designed and implemented and also organization and individual goals should be integrated to achieve better performance from the employees and attainment of organizational goals and objectives.
