ABSTRACT
The study is focused on the “evaluation of artificial intelligence on the mental and creative capacities among undergraduates of University of Benin and Benson ldahosa”. It aimed at finding out the extent to which students have been exposed to AI, to what extent is AI eroding students mental abilities and also the extent that the creative abilities among students is being exchanged by AI. The study adopted the technological determinism and diffusion of innovation theory. Findings of the study revealed that Artificial intelligence (AI) is detrimental to the abilities of students to be mentally and creativity capable. Findings also revealed that students will rather let artificial intelligence think and make things easier for them than to think for themselves. It also revealed that undergraduates prefer creative designs of AI than that of humans. The researcher therefore recommends that educational institutions should try as much as possible to make sure that students do not always make us of AI in their various works. The researcher also recommends that it is okay for students to make use of AI to complement what they do but they should not allow the technology to do everything for them. Instead they need to put in a lot of work to develop themselves mentally and creatively
