ABSTRACT
The aim of this research is to improve the User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) of edX's e-learning platform to provide a better learning experience for its users. However, there is always room for improvement in terms of UI/UX. The project focuses on issues such as difficulties in navigation, lack of personalization, and a confusing layout. The above named issues can affect the user's ability to learn effectively and navigate their way around the courses, it can result to frustration and disengagement4. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis to identify areas where the UI/UX of the edX platform can be improved. At the end of the project, we were able to develop a set of recommendations for improving the UI/UX of the edX elearning platform. These recommendations will be presented to the edX team in the hope that they will be implemented to make the platform even better for users. The project has the potential to make a significant impact on the UI/UX of the edX e-learning platform. By improving the homepage design, course navigation, personalization features, the project could make edX more user-friendly and engaging for all users. This could lead to a number of benefits, including increased user satisfaction, improved learning outcomes, reduced dropout rates, increased learner engagement, and improved accessibility for all users.
