ABSTRACT
A control point is a reference station with established vertical and horizontal position (in terms of longitude and latitude and height). Control points are therefore developed to create a framework around which other survey can be justified. The deficiency or absence of control point within University of Benin, Benin city has hindered the attainment of high accuracy in construction jobs within the university and also limited the various type of research that is of benefit to the university like building deformation and monitoring as the campus is filled with high rising buildings as lecture theater, library, laboratory, administration building, hostels and offices. The aim of this project is to establish first order geodetic control points using Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology. Survey monument were first established at the approved specification and size and height in some selected position with in campus while ensuring inter-visibility among consecutive control points.
