ABSTRACT
This study examines the errors in English subtitles of Hausa movies in which, as observed, the producers devote much attention to the visual quality and the thematic thrust of their producers to the quality of the subtitling and translation. This work used error analysis to process the correct translation of the expressed subtitles. The errors identified were on graphology which is error in spelling, concord, lexis and syntax. This method also forms the theoretical background used in this work. Attention was paid to the written form and pattern of the sentences in the first chapter. We analyzed the capitalization, punctuation and the way letters were written to form words and compared the spelling of Hausa speakers of English with that of the native speakers of English. The research discovered many errors and provided corrections to the faulty subtitles in Hausa movies as contained in concord, graphology, lexis and syntax.
