Abstract
Equitable representation in Nigeria public service is our main thrust which we will try to relate to EDO state context.
Instructively, the question of fair and equitable representations of the indigenes of the component units of Nigeria in the government bureaucracy has always been a contentious issue right from the colonial days. Closely related to this, is the issue of equitable distribution of socio-economic amenities and infrastructural facilities among the federating units such as the provision of roads, light, water, medical, education and health facilities. A major issue has been how this menace that is eating up into the country can be fixed.
This research work tries to take through this challenges and recommend ways which can be of immense help to generating solutions.
Generally, it is pertinent to state that the essence of equitable representation is to redress existing imbalances and ensuring total compliance with federal character principle to see that the issue of lopsidedness and marginalization in the country is reduced to the lowest ebb, and by extension boost the morale of workers in the public service.
This research work is divided into five (5) chapters for proper understanding and clarification.
