ABSTRACT
The assessment on Enhancing Adult Education for Students Through Online Learning Platforms at the University of Benin is a crucial topic that deserves attention. This study delves into the implementation and impact of online learning platforms in augmenting adult education at the University of Benin. Focused on catering to the diverse needs of adult learners, this research investigates the effectiveness of digital tools and resources in delivering accessible, flexible, and interactive learning experiences. Employing a combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including surveys, interviews, and data analysis, the project evaluates the efficacy of online platforms in supporting adult learners' educational objectives and enhancing their overall learning outcomes. By identifying strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improvement, this study aims to inform the development of tailored strategies and interventions to optimize adult education through online learning platforms at the University of Benin, thereby promoting lifelong learning and educational equity. To guide this study, five research questions were formulated focusing on the enhancement of adult education through online learning platforms at the University of Benin. Employing a survey research design, data collection involved a purposive sampling technique, resulting in a sample size of one hundred (100) respondents. The survey, conducted using structured questionnaires titled "Enhancing Adult Education for Students Through Online Learning Platforms at the University of Benin," aimed to gather insights into the enhancement of online learning platforms for students at the universities. The instrument underwent validation by my supervisor and department lecturers, with reliability assessed through the test-retest method. Data analysis utilized frequency, simple percentages, and tables. Key Findings The study reveals a high level of awareness and engagement among students. Findings indicate that e-learning enhances flexibility, accessibility, and self-paced learning, with most respondents perceiving benefits in comprehension, retention, and overall satisfaction. Multimedia resources are 10 seen as valuable tools for increasing engagement and aiding comprehension. Moreover, students recognize the cost-effectiveness of e-learning and suggest promoting its adoption, improving user interfaces, providing connectivity, offering support and training, and conducting further research to meet evolving student needs.
