ABSTRACT

Emulsion-based enhanced oil recovery EOR) techniques have gained significant attention for their potential to improve gas condensate recovery from reservoirs. This study investigates the emulsion formation using alcohol and water-based surfactants solutions as a means to enhance gas condensate recovery. The research focuses on optimizing emulsion formulations and experimental techniques to maximize emulsion stability and performance under reservoir conditions. A systematic approach is employed to evaluate the effects of surfactant type, concentration, formulation parameters, and reservoir conditions on emulsion properties and gas condensate recovery efficiency. Advanced analytical techniques, including dynamic light scattering, microscopy, and rheology, are utilized to characterize emulsion droplet size distribution, morphology, and rheological properties. The phase behavior and interfacial properties of emulsions under reservoir conditions are also investigated to better understand their stability mechanisms. Additionally, reservoir simulation models are developed to simulate emulsion-based gas condensate recovery processes and assess their feasibility and performance. The findings of this study contribute to the optimization of emulsion-based EOR strategies for improved gas condensate recovery, with potential applications in the petroleum industry. It is observed that Alcohols are often combined with surfactants to improved flood performance.
