ABSTRACT

Employees are major assets in any organisation. They have vital roles to play in organszational success, because of this, there is need to train and develop them for increased performance. The study explains the impact of training and development on employee performance in FirstBank Nig Plc. The research aims to investigate the impact of training and development on employee job performance. It also aims to highlight the benefits of training and development, and how they contribute to improved employee performance. One hundred and twenty questionnaires were given out, and one hundred and fifteen were filled out and returned. The information was presented using basic percentages, and the relevant hypotheses were assessed using chi-square testing. The results show that when employees receive training and development, they perform better at their job. Training and development at FBN are making employees happier and staying in their jobs for longer. Investing in appropriate training for employees is likened to investing money in the company's workforce, leading to immediate and long-term benefits. Merely putting funds into investments is not adequate. Companies must improve their training and development programs to get the most out of their investment. The research recommends that FBN regularly provide training and development opportunities for their employees, and evaluate the effectiveness of the training in facilitating learning..
