ABSTRACT

This study investigated employee non-financial incentives and performance in an organization using Community Development Department, Government Office Annex, Delta State as case study. Four research questions were stated from which four hypotheses were formulated. The research instrument used for this study was a well-structured Questionnaire. The sample comprised of 100 employees of Community Development Department, Government Office Annex. The research questions were answered using Mean(X) and Standard Deviation (SD) calculated from the responses of the respondents. The four hypotheses formulated for the study were tested using linear regression. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20 was used for the correlation coefficient. The result revealed that: there is a significant relationship between promotion of employees, recognition of employees, and employees’ performance, training and job enrichment enhances employees’ performance in Community Development Department, Government Office Annex. From the findings, it was recommended that; in order to enhance the employees’ performance in Community Development Department, Government Office Annex, Government should provide employee incentives that can motivate them to work hard.
