ABSTRACT 

This study investigated the relationship between employee job satisfaction and performance of medical doctors in University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City, Edo State. Data were primarily sourced through the online administration of questionnaires of which 237 was retrieved and used for the analysis. The descriptive (frequency, mean and percentage) and inferential statistics (regression) were adopted for the study’s analysis. Specifically, the regression analysis revealed the following that:  there is no significant relationship between the nature of work and performance of Doctors in UBTH, Benin City, that there was a significant relationship between work-life balance and performance of Doctors in UBTH, Benin City and there was a significant relationship between pay and benefits and performance in UBTH, Benin City. Based on these findings, the following recommendations were made that:The administration of the UBTH should support a team-based approach to healthcare so as to promotes positive collaboration among healthcare professionals.The leadership of the UBTH should emphasize a positive work culture that values feedback, provides emotional support, and recognizes achievements.An effective and efficient work-life balance system should be put a place by the management to avoid high turnover rates, as doctors leave their positions in search of better working condition
