ABSTRACT

The study empirically investigated employee engagement and organizational citizenship behaviour among employees in Local Government in Benin City, Edo State. The study focused on local government employees in Oredo and Egor local government area, of which a total of one hundred and fifty respondents were selected for the study. Specifically, the study aimed at ascertaining the level of employee engagement, and organizational citizenship behaviour among the employees. The variable of employee engagement was measured along Vigour, dedication and absorption; while those of organizational citizenship behaviour was measured under the dimension of sportsmanship, civic duty, and altruism. To guide the study, three research questions were raised and one hypothesis generated.
