ABSTRACT
This study examined the impact of employee engagement and job satisfaction in the Nigeria hospitality industry. The objectives of the study include to ascertain the relationship between psychological engagement, behavioral engagement, social engagement, cognitive engagement and job satisfaction in the Nigeria hospitality industry.The study was specifically concentrate on the Nigeria hospitality industry, considering various types of establishments such as hotels, resorts, restaurants, and event management companies located within different regions of Benin City of Edo State, Nigeria.
The population of the study comprised of the hospitality industry in Benin City. There are over 57 hotels and these served as the main source of respondents for the research. Due to the impracticality of sampling all employees in each of the 57 selected hotels within the Local Government Area, a Simple random sampling method was employed to choose participants for the study. The selection was random and limited to 100 employees from a pool of 10 different hotels. The primary data collected through the questionnaire that was designed for his project, were analyzed with descriptive statistics.
In the study it was conclude that there are notable challenges that warrant attention. Many employees do not feel a strong sense of belonging to the organization, lack enthusiasm about their work, and struggle to see opportunities for career growth within the company. And recommended that there should prioritize efforts to foster a stronger sense of belonging, improve employee enthusiasm, and create clearer pathways for career growth.
