ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was designed to examine the effect of employee benefits on productivity within the staff of the University of Benin, Edo state, Nigeria. The descriptive cross- sectional survey research design was used for this study. The population of the study consisted of employees of the university of Benin. A sample of size of 355 respondents was randomly selected for the study. The study adopted the use of structured Questionnaires, tailored towards the objectives of the research, in obtaining data and responses from the respondents. Three hundred and diff five copies of questionnaire was distributed to employees and staff of the firm, however, only 300 was retrieved. Data obtained from the respondents were retrieved and analyzed using Descriptive statistics, mean, frequency, and Linear Regression models, Via the Statistical package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings from the study revealed that there is a significant relationship between employees benefit packages and workers’ productivity in University of Benin, health care benefits does not have a significant relationship with workers’ productivity in University of Benin and Training and study leave was found to have a significant effect on workers’ productivity in University of Benin. It is recommended that the University of Benin focus on enhancing their employee benefit packages and ensure that their health care benefits are accessible and responsive to employee needs. The university should also invest in and strengthen their training and development programs.
