ABSTRACT
This research examines dance as a reflection of culture. To achieve this experiment, "Egedege Dance" was used as a case study. Egedege dance is performed by the people of Unubi in Anambra State at both sacred and secular ceremonies. Primary and secondary research methodologies were used to gather necessary data. This consists of consultation of relevant literature such as books, journals, magazines and archival materials. Interviews were conducted and the performance was observed to enhance knowledge gotten from literature. The research concludes that dance indeed reflects the culture of a people through its movements, songs, instrumentation, costume, makeup, props, accessories, and the general aesthetics of the performance.
