ABSTRACT
This trial was conducted between March and April 2022 at the screen house of the Department of crop science, Faculty of Agriculture, university of Benin, Benin City to evaluate the effects of top soil and poultry manure mixtures on cashew seedling growth. The experiment involved five different topsoil: poultry manure mixtures (poultry Manure, Top soil, Top soil + Poultry Manure 1:1, Top soil + poultry Manure 1:2, Top soil + Poultry Manure 2:1) was laid out in a completely randomized Design and replicated three times. 2:1).Data were collected on stem girth, plant height, numbers of leaves and leaf area at two, four , six and eight weeks after sowing. Data were also collected on dry matter at six and eight weeks after sowing. Results showed that properties of the various potting media were viable .Growth parameters were significantly influenced by top soil /poultry manure mixtures. Dry matter and crop growth rate were highest in TS+ PM 2:1 medium is thereby suggested for raising cashew seedling.
