ABSTRACT
In Nigeria, political volatility has persisted as an unavoidable element. This is because it has persisted in encroaching on Nigerian political territory while resolutely rejecting the plans and initiatives of well-meaning Nigerians. However, how and why did Nigerian politics become more markedly unstable politically? This paper presents some philosophical solutions while conducting an analytical investigation into the origins and effects of political instability in Nigeria. Nonetheless, the study discovers that disparate political understandings, interpretations, and applications by various government officials are among the causes of Nigerian political instability. Together with this, there is the enduring colonial political structure that is in direct opposition to the political ideologies of the native ethnic groups in Nigeria. The study also discovers that Nigeria's political unrest gives rise to a number of issues including a militarized political system, persistent agitations, insurgencies, corruption, subpar leadership, and low followership. The study's conclusions showed that political unrest has a long-term impact on how Nigeria's secondary school education policy is implemented. Therefore, the study comes to the conclusion that Nigeria will continue to endure severe political instability, which would have an odd influence on the country's educational system, unless Nigerian society is reformed in a way that gives varied ethnic groups and individuals a sense of belonging.
