ABSTRACT
This study was aimed at determining the effect of multimedia aids on teaching and learning of Agricultural science in secondary schools. In order to achieve the purposes of the study, four research questions were raised and examined. Questionnaire was used to collect data from 100 business education students which comprised JSS1-3 and SS1-3 students respectively Edo State. The descriptive survey research design was employed for the investigation. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics comprising of mean score and standard deviation analysis, frequency, and simple percentage. A criterion means score of 2.50 was used as benchmark for purpose of decision making. The analysis of data obtained produced the following findings.That to a very high extent Video based methods is used in teaching Agricultural Science would bring about improvement in the students’ performance, students and teachers have been exposed to various Video based methods, effect of video based methods has on a gender’s performance while instructing and a very high extent on the use of video based methods in teaching could influence and bring about a change in the Agricultural science syllabus. Based on the analysis of data obtained the research concluded thatVideo based methods is used in teaching Agricultural Science would bring about improvement in the students’ performance and students and teachers have been exposed to various Video based methods as it has no effect of video based methods has on a gender’s performance while instructing. Based on the conclusions from the study, it was recommended that video based methods should be encouraged in teaching Agricultural Science in secondary schools and Students and teachers of secondary schools in Edo State should be exposed to various Video based methods.
