ABSTRACT
This study assessed the effects of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) application on agricultural extension service delivery in Ibadan/Ibarapa agricultural zone, Oyo State, Nigeria. The specific objectives were to: describe the socio-economic characteristic of extension agents in the study area ; identify various agricultural extension activities delivered by the extension agents; examine extension agent awareness of different ICT devices application in agricultural extension service delivery; examine the level of application of available ICT devices in extension service delivery by the extension agent; ascertain the ICT devices preferred by the extension agents; examine the effects of the application of ICTs in agricultural extension service delivery and identify the constraints militating against the application of ICTs in agricultural extension service delivery. A three stage sampling procedure was used for a population study of 56 extension agents from 14 Local Government areas for the study. Primary data were collected through the use of structured questionnaire designed in line with the objectives of the study. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency counts, percentages, and mean scores as well as inferential statistics such as Pearson ‘s Product Moment Correlation (PPMC).
