ASTRACT
The research was carried out to examine the causes of elderly mistreatment in Uselu Community Edo State, to use knowledge gained about the types and effects of elder mistreatment to inform public policy and community-based interventions to reduce elder abuse and its negative effects on Elderly in Uselu Community, to identify the psychological effects of mistreatment and deprivation on elderly who are victims of mistreatment and deprivation in Uselu Community and to identify the barriers to addressing Elderly mistreatment and deprivation in Uselu Community The methodology of this study is descriptive in nature. However, a sample size of 50 was drawn from the population using simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and were analyzed.
