ABSTRACT
In public primary schools in the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, the impacts of utilizing instructional aids in teaching and learning were examined in this study. This study's major goal was to evaluate the impact of instructional aids on teaching and learning in public primary schools. Three research questions were posed in order to fulfill this goal. This study employed a descriptive survey methodology, with 60 teachers serving as the sample. The population of the study comprised all public school teachers in the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. The questionnaire was the tool utilized to gather data. Using the test-retest procedure, the questionnaire's reliability was determined. The study's main conclusions showed that participants generally agreed that the educational aids used in public primary schools were tape, chart, flashcards, television, photographs, markers, chalkboards, flip charts, graphs, maps, radios, models, computers, and projectors. Additionally, the survey found that a significant portion of instructional aids are used in public primary schools, and that instructors in these institutions have access to sufficient resources. The government and educational institutions should offer sufficient instructional aids to ensure that teaching and learning are conducted effectively, according to the findings. Additionally, instructional aids must to be required for every topic taught in elementary schools.
