ABSTRACT
The study was undertaken to assess the effect of procurement practices on the performance of government business entities in Nigeria. The cross-sectional survey of respondents using questionnaire was adopted for the study. Fifty (50) respondents of both management and non-management staff of Central Bank of Nigeria, Abuja. Frequency count, percentage and meanwhile regression analysis, and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used in analyzing the data gotten from the respondents.
The results indicated a positive relationship between organizational performance and procurement practices such as internal management systems, information sharing, strategic partnerships, customer orientation, reverse logistics, and adoption of information technology.
The study concludes that the successful implementation of procurementprocesses, integrated with supply chain managementand systems would benefit organizations and the entire country at large.
