ABSTRACT
Onion (Allium cepa.) is a culinary and medicinal herb which belong to the botanical family of Amyllidacaes.it has showed to exhibit different phytochemical and theurapuetic benefits. The flavinoid and vitamin component of onion extract has showed great promises in the treatment of diseases. Cardiometabolic syndrome is a clusters of metabolic disorders such diabetes,cardiovascular diseases, obesity and adnormal waste line. Onion juice had showed to effective in these parameters but have not yet been fully established. Prolong Diabetes have relatively been associated with renal dyfunction. Although, it has not yet been established as a parameter of cardiometaolic syndrome. This study was based to discover the effect of onion(Allium) on electrolytes, Urea and creatinine. This parameters has been known to diagnose renal dysfunction. Interestingly, the results showed that Na+,K+,Cl- and CO3 decreased as compareď to the control groups and also urea and creatinine level showed a decrease as compared to the control group. This showed that onion could be effective in the treatment of renal dysfunction caused by diabetes of cardiometabolic syndrome.
