ABSTRACT

Lecture theatres, which are essential components of the infrastructure needed in higher education institutions, might affect how well students learn. This research compares the perceptions of students from various lecture halls with the performance standards of lecture halls as part of a larger study. This study uses a quantitative research design with a "case study" technique. The pertinent literature on the value of integrating performance criteria into the learning process was examined. Using a closed-ended questionnaire survey, data was gathered. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. According to the survey, all three lecture halls' performance metrics were regarded as relevant to students' learning experiences across the board. Although there were some variations in the responses, these variations did not amount to much. The lecture theaters appear to have good mean values for lighting, structural safety, ventilation, and cleanliness, whereas the lowest rankings are for aesthetics. The findings of the study can assist maintenance departments in setting priorities for both the upkeep of various lecture halls and their various performance metrics. When making selections during the planning phase and upgrading lecture halls, the outcome may also be highly beneficial. The study used a case study methodology, therefore the findings are limited to one university institution, but they may be used to inform maintenance choices in other institutions of higher education.
