EFFECT OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND BEHAVIORAL DEVELOPMENT OF WOMEN IN OVIA NORTH EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA EDO STATE.

ABSTRACT 

This study broadly examined the effect of domestic violence on the behavioral development of women in Ovia North East Local Government Area. The specific objectives are to find out if domestic violence result to depresses of women, examine if domestic violence is the cause of most women prefer staying without husband, to find out if young girls' early marriages and domestic violence affect women behavior, and to examine if domestic violence resulted to uneducated and unethical behavior of women in Ovia North East Local Government Area

The instrument use for data collection is questionnaires. sample size consist of 133 respondents selected using convenience sample method for easy and quick process of the data collection. frequency count, simple percentage method.   Crosstabulation method was also be used to test the hypothesis in this study.

Finding of this study showed that domestic violence result to depresses of women in Ovia North East Local Government Area, domestic violence is the cause of most women prefer staying without husband Ovia North East Local Government Area, early marriages of young girls affect women behavior in Ovia North East Local Government Area, and also domestic violence resulted to uneducated and unethical behavior of women in Ovia North East Local Government Area
