ABSTRACT
This study sought to investigate the effect of currency redesign on the Nigerian economy, Nigeria has redesigned her currency which is the Naira note numerously over the years, this study aimed to analyze the inflationary and deflationary effect of Naira redesign in 2007, 2010, 2014 and 2022. The objective of this study was to examine the impact of redesign on inflation in the Nigerian economy and the extent to which it leads to cash scarcity. Currency redesign has an inflationary effect on the economy and deflationary effect in the long run. In other to minimize the inflationary effect of currency redesign some factors should be take into consideration.
