ABSTRACT

This study centered on Effect Of Audio Visual Technology In School Libraries And It's Academic Performance In Faith International College Port Harcourt. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the investigation while the sample was 100 respondents made up of the librarian, teachers and students in faith international college. Relevant data were collected from the sample through personal contact method of administration of copies of researchers' made of Effect of audio-visual material in the school library and there acdemic performance and practice Questionnaire (EAVMSLAQ). The data collected wear presented in tables and analyzed using simple percentage. Based on the result of the study, it is concluded that the presence of audiovisual technology in school libraries is positively correlated with improved academic performance. They promoting active learning and fostering a deeper understanding of various subjects, it have the potential to enhance students' comprehension and retention of material. These technologies facilitate the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Based on the findings, it's recommended that government and school administrators should increase funding given to library to effectively acquired and maintain audio visual material, schools should equipped there libraries with range of audio visual material, school administrators should offer training workshops or tutorials for students and teachers to improve their skills and confidence in using audio-visual technology and Schools should provide backup power supply such as generator, solar etc in terms of power outage to effectively nevigate audio visual materials.
