EDUGUARD: SAFEGUARDING STUDENTS ACADEMIC RECORDS ON THE BLOCKCHAIN

Abstract

Academic record-keeping is a critical aspect of any educational institution, directly impacting the integrity and verification of student credentials. Traditional methods, such as paper-based records and centralized digital databases, have proven to be inadequate, time-consuming, and prone to errors and security breaches. This project highlights the need for more secure and efficient methods for managing academic records. EduGuard, a blockchain-based platform, is proposed as the solution to these challenges. EduGuard leverages blockchain technology to provide a decentralized, tamper-proof, and easily verifiable system for managing academic records. This project focuses on the development of a web application where school personnel can connect their wallets, fund blockchain nodes, upload academic records, and retrieve these records securely from the blockchain. By using blockchain technology, EduGuard ensures the authenticity and integrity of academic records, significantly reducing the risk of fraud and errors. The system streamlines the verification process, making it more efficient and reliable for institutions and employers worldwide. This project demonstrates the potential of blockchain technology to revolutionize academic record-keeping, offering a modern, secure, and efficient alternative to traditional methods.
