SUMMARY
Given the various modes of social-political organization of Okpe kingdom x-rayed in this project,It is evidently a fact that the Okpe are a fascinating people. The following concluding remarks need to be made concerning them. As a people, the Okpe are peace loving, but courageous. They detest any form of oppression, regardless of who the oppressor may be initially, at the outset. This research however now shows clearly that the Okpe land is one of the largest kingdom in the Urhobo nation. The okpe people had long been in contact with the European and the city of Sapele was an important port in the trade of oil palm produce during the colonial period. It also touches on the various modifications implemented by the British colonial rule and its impact on the Okpe people. The Okpe people make up one third of the entire Urhobo people, instead of the often quoted one out of twenty, or one out of twenty-two clans or social units that make up the Urhobo ethnic group.
