ABSTRACT
The study investigated the economic determinants of health care demand among patient in Lily hospital Benin City. The specific objectives of the study are to examine the effect of income level on healthcare demand in Lily hospital Benin city, to investigate patient cost of treatment on healthcare demand in Lily hospital Benin city, to investigate the effect of patient waiting time on healthcare demand in Lily hospital Benin city, to examine effect of the educational status of patient on healthcare demand in Lily hospital Benin city. The study population comprised patients of Lily hospital while a Convenience sample approach was used to obtained the respondents were chosen through Random sampling while the logistic regression was used for the data analysis. The study found that Average monthly income, average amount spent on health care per year and education status were all significant relationship to health care demand while waiting time was not a significant determinants against other the study recommends that to health care demand.
