ABSTRACT
This study examines the economic analysis of cassava processing in EdoSouthAgroecological Zone, Edo State, Nigeria. The objectives include assessing the socioeconomiccharacteristics of cassava processors, determining cost, returns, and profitability, investigating influencing factors profitability, and identifying constraints faced by cassavaprocessors. Data from 94 respondents across five communities in two Local Government Areaswereanalyzed. The study shows that cassava processing is a profitable enterprisewitha gross margin of ₦77,473.50. Regression analysis reveals that gender, educationandincome significantly impact profitability (R² =0.419). Challenges faced by processors include limited access to credit, high packagingcosts, substantial taxes, and transportation expenses.These findings provide insights into cassavaprocessing's economic landscape, informing strategies for sector sustainability and growth.
