ABSTRACT
This study centers on finding our the Role ICT played in reducing tge rate of unemployment among student during the 2022 ASUU strike. The study was anchored on the Uses and gratification theory, and the survey research method was employed for tge study with a sample size of 90 respondent. From the analysis of data it was discovered that ICT played an important role in helping students get employed during the 2022 ASUU strike. ICT tools and resources were used to search for job opportunities, for continuous learning (engaging in online courses or training programs) and helped student engage in remote work. Students also encountered challenges in accessing ICT tools and one of the challenges is unreliable internet access. The study recommends that policy makers should prioritize the provision of ICT tools and resources to students, to help them find employment during strikes or other periods of disruption. It also suggest that educators should integrate the use of ICT into their teaching and learning practices, to help prepare students for finding employment in the future. The findings also suggest that students should be encouraged to use ICT tools and resources to explore employment opportunities and develop their employability skills.
