ABSTRACT
Emerging technology developments are evolving and transforming our world into a digital environment. Digital inventions abound in today's society, including digital money, smart devices, social media, and a long number of others. Initiatives involving digital or electronic currency, like eNaira, are quickly spreading throughout the world as a standard method of paying for products and services. However, with the eNaira, a lack of knowledge of its prospects and problems, and the paucity of academic research have many people scared and concerned. eNaira is an electronic currency that can only be used online and does not have tangible paper money. This project report was intended to examine prospects and challenges of the eNaira’s implementation. This study was guided by the following objectives; to provide a comprehensive analysis on the ideology of the eNaira, to examine the steps taken by the central bank of Nigeria to implement the eNaira and to find what the perception of Nigerians towards the eNaira’s implementation.
