ABSTRACT
This study critically examines drama as a viable tool for effecting societal reforms in the positive direction, with a view to draw attention to the innate potentials drama still possess even today, in a technologically advanced world. The researcher employed critical examinations of two plays as case studies: Once Upon Four Robbers and The Oriki as a Grasshopper, both written by Femi Osofisan. Through the breakdown and analysis of both plays (encompassing a few examples of audience reception of one of the plays), the research submits that drama is truly a formidable tool for effecting changes in the society in real time, if provided certain levels of precedence and enabling platforms.
