Abstract
This study examined pre-colonial Ughievwe society's methods for resolving disputes. the investigation of pre-colonial Ughievwe society's early history. the pre-colonial Ughievwe society's political structure, social structures, and economic activity; the reasons behind and types of conflicts in this society; the ways in which political, social, and economic disputes were settled in this society; and the lessons regarding conflict resolution that contemporary policy makers can apply. Prior to the arrival of colonialism, the study examined conflict resolution in the Ughievwe kingdom of Ughelli-South Local Government Area of Delta State. The early history of the Ughievwe people, the political, social, and economic structures that were in existence, and the customary methods for resolving conflicts involving social, political, and economic aspects are all covered in the first section.
