ABSTRACT

This study examined disciplinary process and students academic performance in public senior secondary schools in Egor local government area of Edo State. Five research questions were raised to guide the study. The study employed purposive sampling method with a sample population of 24 senior secondary school. A 13 items questionnaire validated using expert judgement approach was used for the study. The instrument was tested for reliability using split half method and analyzed using Pearson Product moment correlation statistic which gives a coefficient of 0.70. Data collected were analyzed using means and standard deviation. The findings of the study revealed that : disciplinary process influence academic performance of student in public senior secondary schools in Egor local government area, Edo State. Disciplinary process influence student academic based on gender amongst others. It was recommended that gender based discipline should be introduced into the secondary school system and age compliant discipline measure should be made available in the secondary school.
