ABSTRACT

Examining digital banking and the performance of Nigerian deposit money banks was the study's stated goal. To determine the relationship between digital banking and deposit money bank performance in Nigeria, the study employed a longitudinal research design. Data for this study came from the annual reports and statistical bulletin of the Central Bank of Nigeria, which served as the secondary source of data. 2009–2018 is the study's time frame. This was deemed a suitable time frame since there was a significant surge in the use of digital banking during that span. The performance variables found in the study and the variables related to digital banking were compared using multiple regressions. The performance of deposit money banks in Nigeria is significantly correlated with digital banking, according to the results. According to the study's findings, mobile banking contributes to the success of Nigerian deposit money banks and has raised the level of returns on investments made by the banking industry. Internet banking, on the other hand, is another traditional type of digital banking that benefits Nigerian deposit money banks because it is more accurate and secure. Finally, point-of-sale and automated teller machine transactions also contribute to the success of Nigerian deposit money banks. In order for banks to grow, the study advises those that have not yet fully embraced digital banking to do so immediately.
