ABSTRACT
The management and booking of Rooms in temporary accommodations is a tedious and complicated task especially if it is done manually. Keeping track of large customers and all their details requires an inordinate space for file cabinets, not to mention the time the temporary accommodation administrator would spend going back and forth to file cabinets so as to look up each customer’s information. This is why a good temporary accommodation reservation system is needed to make this task as easy as possible. This paper shows how the noted complicated human task can be solved by using a database Management System together with scripting and programming languages like Html and PHP respectively as the key tools in the development of a temporary accommodation reservation System. However, in this research, we developed an online booking system for temporary accommodation. We used Hypertext Mark up (HTML) Language, Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) and JavaScript for the front end and MySQL database as the back end; and PHP as the scripting language. The designed system was implemented using the XAMPP package. XAMPP comes with the Apache as the server. The developed system was successfully tested on a computer system with a 4 gigabyte RAM and a DUAL CORE processor with a processor speed of 2.16GHz.
